Call for Translators

blog!project is looking for translators!

blog!project’s goal is to be the hub for blog translations of Hello!Project. We would like to be the most convenient, accurate, and updated resource.

To accomplish this, we need to pool in more translators and we’re looking for you! Even if you are a part of a different group, website, etc. We’d like to make it easier for everyone by putting our efforts together.

Here’s how to become a translator for blog!project:

  • Sign up on MM-BBS, read the rules (important!).
It will take us time to validate your account so you won’t be able to post right away.
  • Post in this thread, let us know who you are, and send strawberryjam a sample of your work.
  • After that, we will check your quality of work. Including English!
  • All communication between translators will be done on MM-BBS. There’s no obligation to post in other parts of the forum, but we do ask that you check the translation thread every now and then, however. To be an effective team, we do have to be able to communicate after all.
  • Note, that after becoming a translator, obligations are low. Currently, we ask for 3 posts a week. This is, after all, something we’re here to do for fun!

Thank you all for helping blog!project be a source of translations!

If you know anyone that does H!P Blog translations, please feel free to link them to this page as well!

P.S. MM-BBS stopped being a “mean” place when strawberryjam became admin. It’s now made of rainbows, unicorns, hearts, ice cream, and love fests. So don’t be shy! :guddo:  :kirakira: :raburabu: :music:

Hello, my name is John(21), I’m from VA, U.S.A., I’m fluent in Japanese, English, and Spanish and I am interested in becoming a translator for the hello blog project. Clicking the above links didn’t work for me so im going to paste my sample translation here. I’ve chosen the B-side to Nakazawa yuuko’s danna-sama single “Greeting card.”

In the middle of the night
I found a blue post card in my mailbox

A picture of a foreign ocean
    And your quirky, nostalgic writing

For the one who chased his dream
I was able to do one thing

    Light-heartedly laugh goodbye
    Before I cried and cried

    “Are you doing well?”
    I can’t see you but
    I’m praying from afar

    “Are you happy?”
Even the days on which we loved each other
    Today, remain good memories

Not even flowers are in my one person bedroom
Where I return to sleep everyday

I hung your postcard on the wall
So that I could hear the ocean’s waves

On that day…If only I had been able to be honest and say “Don’t go”…

I lived without knowing the real meaning of love didn’t I?

    “Are you doing well?”
    I haven’t caught any colds
And I have the same smile

    “Are you happy?”
I’m cheering for your dreams to come true

    “Are you doing well?”
With the person whose name is next to yours
On the corner of the post card

    Are you happy?
I too will surely become happy someday

    Goodbye Thankyou

John, you should probably head to the bbs with this information instead. If the links don’t work, just go to mm-bbs.org and sign up and then find the appropriate threads.

Hey : ) I was just wondering which members/blogs needed translating?

    • Posted September 14, 2011 at 05:24 | Permalink

      Hi RisuTEN,

You’re pretty much free to take any blog you would be interested in translating. A lot of our translators have their hands full so I’m sure they don’t mind giving up a blog, though I can’t speak for all translators, haha.

But otherwise, any blog you don’t see actively translated definitely up for grabs.

      Thanks!

Hello. I’m Kaitodoraemon from Hello Online. Been translating Ai chans blog posts for almost a year and posting them all up on H!O and on my ameblo account. I know that Kurikaesu.haru is currently doing the works here and I’ve discussed with her that I take over the trans works from now on.

Regarding the links you provided above on posting in a particular thread and sending a pm to Strawberryjam, it seems I still can’t access those links despite already having an account on mmbbs.

anyway, I’d like to show a few of my works.

    よろしくおねがいします!

You weren’t able to do anything because your account had not been approved by an admin yet. But it’s been approved now!

I’ll be sending you a PM shortly. Thank you so much! :haato:
